Cutting with the Polygonal Lasso Tool

In this tutorial we are going to learn to cut around an object in photoshop.

First get your image you want to cut around.

Thats only for a sample, your image may not have a plain background.

Now select the 'Polygonal Lasso Tool'

Then start going around the image you wish to cut out. Zoom in to make this easier.

Now because we want to delete the background and not the image we will have to inverse our selection. Click Select > Inverse

Notice the background is now selected like below.

Now select the 'Eraser Tool'.

Go all over the background but don't worry about going over the picture you wish to keep as it will on delete the background.

Now press Ctrl + D to deselect and you will end up with something like this.

Nice tutorial but there were two easier ways:-

1.When you got to the point where the background is selected just hit the delete button on your keyboard lol.

2.This type of image is easy to get the background to dissapear, choose the background eraser tool (hold down the eraser icon in the toolbar) and make it as big as it can get. Then just click on the background and BAM the background is gone.
